Coming Soon: 5000m Race
Subject: 🏁 Our Annual 5K Is Back! Join the Interest ListOur tried-and-true annual 5K workout is a GO! And this year, we're switching things up a little.
Think training captains, more post-row tacos, and more opportunities to train together in person. 🌮
If you’re new to the Rō 5K, here’s how it works:
🏁 5 Weeks of Training. Built Around YOU.The 5K is a 5-week training program designed to get you ready to row a 5K with a crew. We’ll mix our regular Rō workouts with one longer workout each week, plus suggested mobility and strength work you can do on your own time.
But here's the part that makes our training different:
Your training lives in an app that we'll share with you, and your workouts are built around your numbers.
As you train, we look at your performance, power and output and use that information to create individualized goals and reasonable paces specifically for you. Instead of everyone chasing the same numbers or trying to hold a pace that may not actually make sense for their fitness, you'll have goals that are challenging, achievable and based on where you are right now.
It's a really different way to train, and the results are insanely effective. You'll get fitter, stronger and more confident with every workout, because you're constantly working toward goals that are actually attainable for you.
🌮 Training With a CrewYou'll have your individual goals, but you won't be doing this alone. We're adding training captains and more in-person training opportunities this year, so you'll have plenty of chances to row with the crew, learn from your coaches and hold each other accountable.
🏁 The 5K EventThe 5K itself is planned for late October, and we want it to be both welcoming AND competitive.
Our goal is to remind you that being fast doesn't matter nearly as much as showing up. Participating feels pretty damn good, and a 5K is such a fun distance because we can have all kinds of fitness levels rowing together.
The weather should be nice and cool, and we'll be taking this one outside!
As always, proceeds from the 5K event will contribute to the nonprofit outreach programs supported by Austin Rowing Club.
📋 For Now: Join the Interest ListWe're not selling training packages just yet. Right now, we simply want to see who's interested so we can build the training schedule around the times that work best for you.
Training time options:
Sunday: 7–9 AM, 10:15a-12:15p
Monday: 3–5 PM
Friday: 3–5 PM
Friday: 8–10 AM
Adding your name to the interest list is not a commitment to purchase. Once we see where the interest is, I'll reach out to help iron out the schedule and send over the training package options.
And one more thing: the training packages will be less expensive than last year! 🎉
Add your name to the interest list and let's get ready to row 5K together. You bring the effort. We'll take care of the plan.
